ABOUT THE GAIL MYBURGH SCHOOL OF BALLET
Gail Myburgh was employed as a full-time teacher of the Audrey King School of Ballet in 1979, at which time she became responsible for teaching students at junior and senior levels.
At the time of the permanent re-location of the late Audrey King to the United States of America, the students of Audrey King School of Ballet were entrusted to Gail Myburgh and the Gail Myburgh School of Ballet was consequently formed.
The Gail Myburgh School of Ballet provides a professional and caring environment wherein dedicated staff members nurture students to reach their individual balletic potential.
TUITION
Gail Myburgh School of Ballet offers tuition at:
- Beginner and junior levels (four years of age upwards).
- Vocation levels.
- Teacher qualifying echelons.
- Adult classes.
PREPARATION
Students are prepared for:
- Examinations in the Cecchetti Method.
- The Concours de Ballet Ballet Festival.
- Badge Tests of the National Society of Dance Teachers Dancers.
- The Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition, when and if appropriate.
- Shows and productions when appropriate.
MORE THAN 30 YEARS OF BALLET
During the existence of the Gail Myburgh School of Ballet:
Various students have been accepted into the National School of the Arts (S.A.); the former South African Ballet Theatre Academy; the Graduate Programme of the former South African Ballet Theatre, the former South African Ballet Theatre Company; Joburg Ballet Academy; Joburg Ballet Graduate Programme; North Carolina School of the Arts (U.S.A.); the English National Ballet School (U.K.); Central Ballet School (U.K.) and White Lodge, the Royal Ballet School (U.K.).
Students have likewise been accepted into international summer intensives of the English National Ballet School, the Juilliard School and Washington Ballet.
Several students have qualified in the ballet teaching profession.
